The National Association of Realtors® (NAR) recently urged federal regulators to go back to the drawing board on a proposed Qualified Residential Mortgage (QRM) rule.
NAR forged the broad-based Coalition for Sensible Housing Policy, which includes 46 organizations focused on drawing attention to the proposed 20% down payment requirement. NAR and its coalition partners gathered the support of 53 U.S. Senators, who wrote to regulators expressing their intent on QRM and opposing the imposition of a sizable down payment; 293 House members signed a similar letter.
The goal of the Home Owner Action Center is to fight any legislation that serves to undermine the American Dream of Home Ownership for hardworking, creditworthy Americans.
